Dispatch Times on Products and Baskets

Dispatch Times on Products and Baskets

Managing customer expectations will directly link to a reduction in enquiries (WISMO) and ultimately make for happier customers. One way to do this is to be transparent about product dispatch times and publish them at key touchpoints. Push allows you to specify these for even some of the more complex scenarios.

Built across the entire platform there are a number of areas in the dispatch date that can be affected. It starts with a default setting for both in-stock products and supplier warehouse products. These values can be added from the settings > on-site messaging. You'll see them as illustrated below:

Store Stock Defaults

Supplier Stock Defaults

The values entered here will be the fall-back values if there are no further conditions set. Which we will come to shortly. The other setting in this area is placing the dispatch time messaging. There is a tag that can be placed in any of the public-facing stock messaging text boxes. See the example below:

And this displays on the product page, like this (in blue):

Advanced Configuration

It might be necessary to further customise the dispatch times for the following scenarios:
  1. The supplier has extended lead times over and above the default settings.
  2. Some stores take longer to dispatch products from their location.
  3. Bikes take longer to build, so an additional day needs to be added to allow for PDI and packaging.
Fortunately, there is a solution for these scenarios above.

By Brand

To override the default dispatch timeframes you can navigate to the brand you wish to adjust (Brands > brand name). From here you'll see the "Override Supplier Warehouse Leadtime" text boxes. You can enter the range for this brand in here. Once saved the new dispatch leadtimes will reflect this.

By Store

Individual stores can then have their own dispatch times that override the default. This could allow for additional time for a store to ship to a central distribution location because picking and packing generally takes longer at these locations. To make this change you'll need to navigate to the store editor page and find the "Dispatch Delay (Days)", this will override the default values.

By Categories

Category dispatch adjustments work slightly differently to the two above as these are classed as an additional timeframe. These are added to both store and supplier stock as they are intended to work for the above scenario where bikes might take longer due to being PDI'd etc.

To add additional days to certain categories you just need to navigate to the category in question and change the values in the "DISPATCH CONFIGURATION" box.

Note:
This feature is in a phased development cycle. Further enhancements are due very soon.
