Sharing access to Google Search Console is essential when collaborating with Push team members. This guide will walk you through each step to share access securely and efficiently.

Go to Google Search Console and log in. Make sure you're using the Google account associated as the "Owner" of the property you want to share. (For more details on Google Search Console permissions, see below.)

Step 2: Choose the Property to Share

If you manage multiple website properties in Google Search Console, select the correct one from the drop-down menu in the top-left corner of the screen.

Step 3: Open the Settings Menu

In the left-hand navigation, scroll down and click on Settings at the bottom.

Step 4: Access Users and Permissions

Within the Settings page, select Users and Permissions to manage access for others.

Step 5: Add a New User

Click on the blue Add User button in the top-right corner.

Step 6: Enter User Details

In the pop-up Add User window, enter the email address of the person you want to add, and select their permission level:

  1. Owner: Full access, including data management and configuration.
  2. Full: Access to data viewing and some actionable features, like verifying fixes and submitting URL indexing.
  3. Restricted: View-only access to most data.

Finally, click Add to save changes.

Tip: If you’re adding Push, refer to your onboarding materials for the correct email and select the Full permissions level.

Google Search Console Permission Levels Explained

Google Search Console offers three permission levels for managing property access. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Owner: Every property requires at least one verified owner who has completed the property verification. Additional owners are listed as delegated.
  • Full: Full users can view all data and perform some actions, such as requesting URL indexing.
  • Restricted: Restricted users have limited access, typically view-only for most data.

For a complete list of permissions and limitations, review Google’s Users and Permissions documentation.

By following these steps, you’ll easily manage Google Search Console access, allowing secure collaboration with the right permissions.
