How to add a product to the website / I can't find my product on the website / When I search for the product it isn't there
This is for Ascend retailers only - if you use a different EPOS then please stop reading as this will not be relevant to your site.
For a product to be searchable by customers it must be:
- active
- in stock
- categorised
- Search for the product in admin (use the sku / MPN if you can). Have you found the product?
If yes, continue to the next step
If no, skip to step 14 - Is it deactivated? (products with a yellow background are deactivated)
If yes, continue to the next step
If no, skip to step 11 - Is "YOUR ID" 0?
If yes, the product is managed by the SDM. Continue to the next step
If no, skip to step 10 - Is the product's category and brand selected in the SDM?
If yes then continue to the next step.
If no then first select it in the SDM and then continue to the next step. - On the product, is prevent overwrite ticked?
If yes, this means product will remain inactive without any changes. Continue to the next step
If no, skip to step 9 - Does the product have custom data (manually inputed) that you don't want to be overwritten by the supplier's data?
If yes, continue to the next step
If no, skip to step 8 - Keep prevent overwrite ticked and manually set the product to active on Push.
The product is now on the site. You may need to wait overnight for it to appear in customer searches.
- Untick prevent overwrite. The product will then be made active and updated overnight by the SDM.
To make it active straight away you can manually activate the product in Push.
You may need to wait overnight for it to appear in customer searches. - The product will be activated overnight. You can also make it active now by manually activating it in Push.
You may need to wait overnight for it to appear in customer searches. - This means that the active / inactive status of this product is managed by Ascend.
To activate you need to tick eCommerce for the product on Ascend. It can take a few hours / overnight for this to come through from Ascend. - Is there stock or warehouse stock for the product?
If yes, continue to the next step
If no, skip to step 17 - Is the category POP?
If yes, continue to the next step
If no, skip to step 14 - You will need to categorise the product in Push before customers can search for it.
After categorisation you may need to wait overnight for it to show in customer searches.
Most products will be categorised automatically, only those where we do not have this data from suppliers will need to be categorised manually. Categories do not pass through from Ascend. - Are you trying to add the product with Ascend?
If yes, continue to the next step
If no, skip to step 16 - Check that the product is in Ascend and has eCommerce ticked.
It is normally quicker but you may need to wait overnight for the product to appear on the site. If it is still not showing in customer searches then contact support. - You must be trying to add this with the SDM
Check the the category and brand is selected in the SDM.
If it has only been selected today, then you will need to wait overnight for this to come onto the website
You may need to wait overnight for it to appear in customer searches. - This is the reason. Products with no stock are not searchable by customers.
