Adding A Facebook Pixel

Adding A Facebook Pixel

What Is the Facebook Pixel and How to Set It Up?

The Facebook pixel is a snippet code you place on your website that collects data and tracks website visitors' behaviour. It allows you to create audiences, track conversion and provides you with insights about users who have visited your website.

A Facebook pixel can track conversions such as form fills, purchases etc by firing when one of these actions have been taken. With Facebook being one of the largest advertising platforms, we recommend that all eCommerce businesses test using this platform to showcase their products and services to Facebook’s 1.6B active daily users.

Prerequisites

Before you proceed, make sure you check out our article on how to install tag manager on your website as you’ll need this on your website before you begin (which can be found here). You’ll also need to make sure you have a Facebook business manager as well as a Facebook page. If you already have these, feel free to skip to the instructions for setting up the Facebook pixel on your website.

A Facebook business manager allows you to manage all the Facebook marketing tools such as your business's Facebook and Instagram accounts, advertising accounts, business assets, and product catalogues from one central system. Once you create a Facebook page for your business, you will have an associated ads account linked to the page. A Facebook advertising account, allows you to create and run ads on all of Facebook’s marketing channels.

Set Up Your Facebook Business Manager:

  1. Go to business.facebook.com/overview.
  2. Click Create account.
  3. Enter a name for your business, your name and work email address and click Next.
  4. Enter your business details and click Submit.
