Overview


The Bulk Editor is a powerful suite of tools designed for advanced users to efficiently manage large numbers of products simultaneously. Located under **Products → Bulk Editor** in the admin panel, these tools allow you to make sweeping changes across your entire catalog, saving hours of manual editing.

⚠️ **Important:** These tools can affect hundreds or thousands of products at once. Always review your selections carefully before applying changes.

Available Bulk Editor Tools


1. Active Products

Purpose: Bulk activate or deactivate products to control their visibility on the website.

Use Cases:
- Temporarily hide seasonal products
- Deactivate discontinued product lines
- Bulk activate new product arrivals

2. Re-Categorisation

Purpose: Move and reassign products to different categories using smart filters and rules.

Features:
- Create reorderable rules for automated categorisation
- Run rules nightly for continuous catalog management
- Use smart filters or manual selection methods

3. Pre-Order Products

Purpose: Manage pre-order deposits and settings for products.

Use Cases:
- Set up pre-order deposits for upcoming releases
- Export/import pre-order data for mass updates

4. Click & Collect

Purpose: Manage click and collect availability across all stores.

Use Cases:
- Enable click & collect for specific product categories
- Disable for oversized items

5. Cycle to Work

Purpose: Manage cycle to work scheme eligibility for products.

Use Cases:
- Enable scheme for qualifying bikes and accessories
- Bulk update eligibility based on price ranges

Purpose: Control featured product status and visibility settings.

Use Cases:
- Highlight seasonal promotions
- Feature new arrivals or bestsellers

7. Feature Tags

Purpose: Add image overlay tags and product labels.

Use Cases:
- Add "New In" badges to recent arrivals
- Apply "Sale" or "Limited Edition" tags

Purpose: Manage special order settings and lead times.

Use Cases:
- Set lead times for made-to-order products
- Mark products as special order only

Purpose: Bulk manage product attributes, filters, and search properties.

Example 1: "Reserve for Christmas"

Objective: Allow Customers to Pre-Order Bikes for Christmas.

Steps:
1. Go to **Bulk Editor → Pre Order Products**
2. Click "Bulk Apply"
3. Use Smart Filters:
- Category is "Bikes" AND
- Product name contains "Christmas" (example)
4. Update the deposit and allow when in stock
4. Schedule it to run each evening

Example 2: "Deactivate Products from an Entire Category"

Objective: Hide all products in the "Summer Sale 2023" category.

Steps:
1. Navigate to **Bulk Editor → Active Products**
2. Click "Add Deactivation Rule"
3. Select "Smart Filter"
4. Add condition: Category equals "Summer Sale 2023"
5. Preview affected products
6. Save and run the rule

Objective: Enable Cycle to Work scheme for all bikes over £500.

2. Click "Add New Tag Rule"
3. Select tag type: "New In"
4. Use Smart Filter:
- Date added is within last 30 days
5. Set tag position (e.g., top-right)

Example 5: "Bulk Move Products to New Category Structure"


Objective: Reorganise "Bikes → Mountain Bikes → Hardtail" to "Bikes → MTB → Hardtail MTB".

Steps:
1. Go to **Bulk Editor → Re-Categorisation**
2. Click "Create Recategorisation Rule"
3. Select "Existing Category" method
4. Choose source: "Bikes → Mountain Bikes → Hardtail"
5. Set target categories:
- Level 1: Bikes (unchanged)
- Level 2: MTB (new)
- Level 3: Hardtail MTB (new)
6. Preview affected products
7. Save as automation for nightly updates
