The Store Facilities feature allows you to showcase the amenities and services available at each of your store locations. This feature helps customers understand what specialised services they can expect when visiting your store, enhancing their shopping experience and potentially driving more foot traffic to your locations.
Key Benefits
- Improved Customer Experience: Clearly communicate available services to customers before they visit
- Highlight Store Specialties: Showcase unique facilities that differentiate your stores
- Consistent Branding: Maintain a uniform presentation of facilities across all store pages
- Flexible Configuration: Easily add, remove, or update facilities for individual stores
How It Works
The Store Facilities feature displays a dedicated section on each store page that lists the available facilities with appropriate icons. The system supports both standard facilities (Workshop, Bike Fit) and custom facilities that can be configured globally and enabled per store.
Standard Facilities
The system includes two built-in facility options:
- Workshop: Indicates that the store offers bicycle repair and maintenance services
- Bike Fit: Indicates that the store offers professional bike fitting services
These can be enabled or disabled for each store individually.
Custom Facilities
In addition to standard facilities, you can create custom facilities that are:
- Defined globally in the system configuration
- Selectively enabled for individual stores
Each custom facility can include:
- A descriptive name
- A custom icon
- Any additional attributes needed to describe the facility
Managing Facilities
Enabling Standard Facilities
To enable the standard Workshop or Bike Fit facilities for a store:
- Navigate to the store management section in the admin panel
- Select the desired store
- Check the appropriate boxes for Workshop and/or Bike Fit
- Save your changes
Managing Custom Facilities
To set up and manage custom facilities:
1. Define Global Facilities:
- Access the system configuration section
- Navigate to the "Shared Facilities" settings
- Add new facilities with names and icons
- Save your configuration
2. Enable Facilities for Individual Stores:
- Navigate to the store management section
- Select the desired store
- In the Facilities section, check the boxes for facilities you want to enable
- Save your changes
Display on Store Pages
The facilities will appear in the "Facilities at our [Store Name] store" section of each store page. Each facility is displayed with its icon and name in an easy-to-read list format.
Best Practices
- Be Accurate: Only enable facilities that are actually available at each store
- Use Clear Icons: Choose icons that clearly represent each facility
- Keep Updated: Regularly review and update your facilities as services change
- Highlight Specialties: Emphasize unique or premium facilities that differentiate your stores
Technical Details
The facilities feature uses a combination of database storage and dynamic rendering:
- Standard facilities are stored as boolean fields in the store database
- Custom facilities are stored as JSON in the facilities field of the store record
- Shared facility definitions are stored in the _config table under the 'shared_facilities' key
- The system automatically renders the appropriate HTML and icons on the store page
